The Paradise Ducks
The Paradise Shelduck is a large, goose-like duck that walks well and feeds by grazing and by upending in shallow water for weed and animal life. (From Birds of New Zealand and Outlying Islands by M.F.Soper)
The usual [Little Owl] call is “kiew”, but during breeding is more like a cat’s miaow.
(From an article on New Zealand owls by M. Harrison in the periodical, New Zealand’s Nature Heritage.)

That’s all from Little Owl Gully till next Monday. Bye for now, and thanks for your company.
